The Abdomen

The abdomen is located between the thoracoabdominal diaphragm (roof of the abdominal cavity) and the pelvis. The boundaries of the abdominal cavity are- anterolaterally: musculoaponeurotic abdominal wall, superiorly: thoracic cavity, inferiorly: pelvic cavity, and posteriorly: posterior abdominal wall.
